    Custom Gun Stocks

Do any of you make custom gun stocks?

    Know anyone who does?

    Lost

when you say custom, do you mean from a wood blank or a synthetic stock ? Shotgun or rifle ?

here is a wood stock I'm working on now which is 90% complete. Still have to do final sanding and add Permalyn oil to protect the English walnut. Chambered in 20 Killer Bee - 218 Bee necked down to 20 caliber with a 40* shoulder (Ackley). Rifle is a Cooper single shot with a HART barrel

If I were you, I'd go with a McMillan synthetic stock which IMO is the best stock out there. If money is tight, a HS Precision stock will also work.

here are several of my McMillan stocks based on my custom rifles

      Wood.

I was thinking about customizing my 7 mag and maybe getting just a regular full sized stock for a NEF .223 I have.

Just wood. Black Walnut for my mag, whatever for the .223.

I'm also curious how much they'd run.

the sky is the limit on custom wood stocks

from $50 for birch to $5000 for Turkish walnut

when you go with nice wood blank, it will cost alot of money

you can get a pre-inletted basic walnut blank that is nearly complete for roughly $100 to $250. You will have to final sand, add oil finish, checker, add pad, and bed rifle.

do a google search for gunstocks , i'm not at home right now but will PM you some info to research later tonight
