    Water well control??

There is a well at my lease, non working right now, and I'd like to get it working, power is right there. It had a old old 60 amp breaker box that I replaced, and now the controller when I flip the switch, only pops, like a circuit breaker. The control board for it has lots of capacitors. I would think it's more than just a house well pump, it used to pump water to a circular irrigator for farming, I would think it's at least 8 inch pipe. So, I'd like to figure out what type and size conto box to buy, or what the next direction should be. I will get pictures or bring the control box home this weekend. Water is the only thing missing at this place and I'd love to have it.

Your best bet would be to go to a water well driller in your area and they can look up records on the well. You need to know how big the pump is so that you get right control box. It almost sounds like motor might be stuck if it pops when you turn on breaker. If its a 8 inch casing then its probably a good size pump

If it was used to drive a pivot it might be pretty big. I know a guy that has a small pivot
and his motor is about 36 horse which puts out about 180 gal a min. I am assuming that its 60 amp at 220.

This was one of two pumps for the pivot, the other one was a car engine that drove another pump. Shouldn't that determine the controller?? 60 amp, 220?

I am a licensed pump installer. From what little information you gave the only thing I can tell you is that if you have 3 phase 460volt power with a 60 amp breaker you would have nothing bigger than about a 30hp motor. If you have single phase 220volt it would be nothing bigger than a fifteen horse.

Single phase 220 60 amp, is what I think I have, any idea on a OK controller. I don't need pressure control as well. Just cheapest to get the pump.to start to fill camper.

....and be careful messing with those capacitors. They can hold a charge for ever and will light your world up!
