    Shower Tile Experts

We are having our master bath shower remodeled. We removed the garden tub and had a shower put in where the tub was.

My question is what is the going labor rates to have tile installed? We have already purchased all the tile and grout. The hardybacker has been installed as well. Tile for the walls is 4"X16" subway tile and the floor is penny tile. All ceramic.

Total sq ft of tile for floor and walls is @ 210 sq ft.

    What say the experts?

If you don't mind labor it's not hard to do but if you don't like labor pay someone cause it is hard work.

I charge 3.00 a sqft on small jobs, less on bigger jobs, it's still a two day job no matter how you look at it. You can pm me if you need any other info.

Frog sticker will do it it for $650? Go that way. There are details in tile work that make the job stand out. You will look at it everyday. Also, a pro will make sure everything is level.

On shower wall I get $10 a foot. Building a pan, or insert? Nitches?

About the most simple rule walk in I've done was around $2k. By time you red guard there's 1/2 a day. Pre slope pan, there's a day, pan... There's 3 days then you start tile. Usually 2 days at best depending on detail and nitches... And seats.

Now a wall wrap will be cheaper. Still $5+ a foot. Now way in heeeeck I'd do a shower right for no $3 a foot. Floor work yes. But on a sloped floor.... No way

I think it all depends on what you are doing, my guy is doing all of mine for about 6 dollars a foot, lots of glass decco and travertine tile, plus he did the hardy backer as well, thank goodness we did some bartering, he needed a barn floor poured.

How about just a tile surround above a bath tub?
