    Water well cost

What's an average cost to have a water well put in? I know it depends on the land and location. I'm looking to put one in Sandia, TX near Lake Corpus Christi. Also will be putting in septic in the future so average cost on that would help too.

    Thanks

I just had one drilled in fact I got my well flow test results today. I am out in Hill country near Wimberley. Got sacked for $25,000 approx. Don't know about the septic system they haven't done that yet.

Holy cow! $25K. I'm not sure, but that seems really high. But, I'm nt familiar w/ the wells out there either.

OP, I got nothing for you, Sir. Sorry.

Wow I would have never thought it could get that high but I guess that's where location comes to play. Thanks

5-6 grand doesn't sound bad at all (NOW). Lol!! We own the land and are looking to build soon but the land is raw. We are getting it bulldozed starting Wednesday then the fun begins. Water, electric, septic, fence, etc.

Its all about expectations and depth. Small low producing well with a small casing isnt going to be near the same as someone trying to do a 12" casing with 300gph output.

That being said, in the DFW area, 6" case is $20/ft with 200ft minimum. That was turn key. If water production is low, you drill deeper (double down) or install a storage tank. Just pray you are lucky. Some people get 40gph and the guy next door may get 3gph.

We drilled ours using a Riobi pipe threader. It took a couple of days but only cost about 500 plus cost of pump etc.

We drilled it in southeast Texas so the water table isn't that deep, plus lots of soft dirt until you hit sand.

Call your local driller and ask him what is the norm in that area, the same thing with the septic
