    Protein timing?

When is the best time to start feeding protein? I'm going to a timed drop this year instead of the free eating. February or March?

    Your thoughts?

Now, help get the bodies back in shape from the rut and winter before they start growing out again.

I start mine with the last trip to the lease. No time like the present.

I see little usage this time of the year as it's been so green, lots of clover and oats growing like crazy right now.

They'll hit it hard starting next month and through the summer.

Agree with above. I started last feb and haven't stopped. Even with how green it was during the season my deer were still steadily eating it. Most critical time is post rut and antler growth/fawning period. For me, feb-sept covers those times. I prefer to have as many groceries out as possible to hold deer in my area.

We started in mid December and will run through early September. Four 700lb feeders on 600 acres. They were about 1/3 full Jan 15th when we topped them again. Now is the time to feed
