mikuni carb on a 2002 trail boss 325. (2nd time working on any carb, so forgive my ignorance) i got the carb off and disassembled to clean. i did find the pilot jet (the smallest jet?) clogged. looking at this parts diagram, i am missing part labeled 1. is this part supposed to keep the spring pressing down on to the jet needle?

My semi educated guess is yes. Just get a washer that fits the shaft tight enough for that C clip (part#2) to keep it in place. -
Now that I think about it a little while that washer probably has a lip on one side to keep the spring centered on the shaft.Comment
