This is just an improvement to the Hoyt's short ATA bows in comparison to what Hoyt has produced in years past. It's about the distance from eye to peep, tip of nose to the string and keeping your head level. Up until now the Short ATA Hoyts had a more extreme angle at full draw and I didn't like it. The 35" ATA was were I liked to be.
Now the string angle on the Defiant 30 is more compared to the 34" or so ATA bows Hoyt made in the past.
It's really just a personal thing...I've been hunting with a 35" ATA Hoyt for a long time but I'm loving how my new D-30 feels and shoots. I have a new hunting bow now.
