Has anybody ever had a steer slaughtered for them. I've always heard about people hanging a caucus for a couple of weeks before package unit. How much does it cost to slaughter package a steer way 1400 pounds. How long do you hang it. Is there anywhere in Dallas that will slaughter it for you. Or around abileme. How do you know if you get your beef back.

My wife's grandparents had one slaughtered in Cross Plains. I haven't had any problems with the meat at all. It was split amongst the family so I'm not sure of the kill weight vs the amount of meat received. I believe there's a place in Comanche that is reputed to be good and I've heard that the place in Santa Anna does good work as well.
