"Gang of Idiots" vs the "Gully Rabbit"

It's been a while since I updated the latest on the "Gang of Idiots". They are getting older, although I have two new pups that are joining in the chase.

We have recently been hunting an area with lots of gullys and washouts with some super smart, elusive rabbits who give the "Gang" a run for their money. If you think an old whitetail buck is smart then you've never been up against a wily wabbit.

These smart aleck rabbits have been chased by coyotes, bobcats, hawks and every other predator known to man.

This is how the " Gang" feels after a race.

Here's a short video where Bugs outsmarted us once again.

If any TBHer in N. Texas has a kid, who is smarter than your average rabbit, you are welcome to join us in our efforts to eradicate these devious, elusive beast.

So the gang of idiots pushed the rabbit right over your position and you were busy talking and moving around, and spooked the rabbit off in a different direction.

".......he's calling us idiots?"....is most likely what they're thinking as they run past you.

You need one hand on the trigger to make that gun shoot, not just the forearm.

I grew up rabbit hunting with my grandpa and his famous beagles in the bottoms of Arkansas. It was a great family tradition with 15-20 men and boys and at least a dozen beagles set out to give the local cottontail population heck. When the hunt was over we'd have 30-40 rabbits to clean. The boys would watch as the older men would sit around a big outside fire and clean rabbits and smoke. And tell stories of course. It was a great time to be a kid. My grandmother would grind the meat and make rabbit tamales. I swear I didn't know we had that many kinfolks when it came time to eat. I will never forget those times.

Having said all that, I salute you Froggy and your gang of idiots for what you do. It sure brings back some good memories.
