I've got 3 Texas Hunter products 6v feeders, 2 of them have been running nearly ever day for close to 10 years now. Had 1 issue where a battery was getting drained, sent the control unit back to Texas Hunter Products and had it back within the week with new firmware for no cost. The 6v motors throw plenty far for me.

I ran two On Time Elites, a Tx Trophy Hunter, plus a couple of hybrids, Moultrie, (and even one WGI that was given to me) last year and had zero problems with any of them. The On Time Elites have been running for about 12 years now, and each has been back to them for repair under their lifetime warranty once. One place I pig hunt has The Timer and I've been pig hunting there around 5 years and it has never had any problems either.

Bottom line, most of the electronics today are pretty reliable. It's the batteries that generally are the source of problems.

Ultramatic Feeders has some good ones too and they are a site sponsor.

I like the ones that use "The Timer" and a 1/4" shaft motor. I would stay away from the ones that use the 1/8" shaft motors.

We have a 6 volt on one of our feeders. It is a Triple C I bought on sale for cheap about 10 years ago. It has been running since then with no problems. I always figured I would replace it with a 12 volt when it conked out but it continues to run as well as the first day I bought it.
