If you use poison and you have dogs, beware. We had a professional exterminator set out poison bait boxes that they said were dog proof. Well, our two dogs chewed through the plastic and ate the poison. Fortunately, we were able to get them to the vet within 45 minutes and they survived. The vet bill was $600.

My dog did not get along with cats either, I slowly got them used to each other. They are not best friends or anything, but the dog knows now the cat is off limits. I have a cat that lives in my shop to do what you just posted, I also had snakes. No more snakes or mice, just make sure you keep there litter bucket clean or they will find another place to litter.

X2 - I have a cabin in Wisconsin. My friend put out rat poison. My blue lacy ended up eating it and almost died. I hate mice though! At my cabin in at my bow lease in TX, I put the rat bait in the shower house behind my cabin. They eat up that crap quickly, but I make sure only mice can get to it.

A spayed or neutered cat or two, but do not feed them.

            Fast forward to 3:20

Also, put antifreeze in the bottom and they won't stink.
Or fill with water and you can dump daily.

That was the most high tech way to catch a mouse I've ever seen. Computer, motion sensor, camera, a whole workshop to make a home made mouse trap.

sticky traps are awesome, never have to feed them, they also do something lots of other things wont like catch snakes, spiders and scorpions,,,, get the paper backed kind not the little tray style, they can get out of those and frequently do,, i have caught as many as 3 mice at a time on a sticky board, i have one stuck right now i need to throw away,,, super clean never have to"reset or rebait the trap, just leave it along the edges of the walls , near doorways, behind things or at the edge like a refrigerator or freezer...
i have caught a rat snake about 3.5' long and also a ing snake about 30" long,,, they crawled across the trap, went into there twisting writhing mode and flipped the trap over and stuck themselves to the floor..... never would have believed they would have held a snake more than about 12" long but they did.
i keep them out in my shop all the time, catch a mouse, junk the trap in the garbage set another on in its place

Well no one wanted to test out the gauntlet last night, so I guess I'm headed to town and see what kind of poison I can get my hands on

My understanding Hawks,Owls, dogs, cats that eat a poisoned rodent has a good chance of dying.. Check out a website called Gemplers.com they carry all kinds of rodent and animal control they even sell the glue for sticky traps by the gallon. They are a Agri supply business

If you don't want a cat (fixed females are better), then poison. Green pellets are effective. Make certain there is no water source and they will leave before they die.

                        Yes. It's that easy.

I've had some that ate the sticky glue paper to get free. Not that effective.

I have had the best luck with the yellow just one bite and tomcat with bromethalin as the ingredient. I also always take a 10 or 12 in piece of 2x4 and screw the bait to it with a 3" drywall or deck screw. The just one bit already has a hole through the middle and sometimes the tomcat does as well. keeps rats from carrying it away. Easy way to verify it was eaten and not packed away. Before I started screwing it down I would find nests with poison chunks in them.
