More data at home for streaming?

I'm looking for info, for a co-worker, on options for more data capability at their home.
They live in a cul-de-sac. When that area was developed, no underground was done for cable. Cross street at end of cul-de-sac has it, but they do not.
They've spoken to cable providers, satellite providers and all they can seem to get is dsl. 150mb is all they can get through at&t.
Has the braintrust any solution? Anyone ever successfully had cable buried after the fact (development of neighborhood)?
They are wanting to stream, and stay away from high monthly plan for satellite (I think?).

I'd be tickled pink with 150mb service. Been limping along with 3-6mb with uverse. Cable being installed Friday which will get me to 50. 150 should do anything they need to do.

I have ATT 75mb and normally using our devices via wifi we get approx 30mb. You can pretty much do anything with 20-30mb. I know that ATT said that I could get closer to 75 via a hard wire.

What are they doing gaming and streaming it?

150mb will be plenty fast enough for streaming, unless you have over a dozen devices streaming at the same time.

It is possible to get cable buried after development, but most likely the cable company isn't going to pay for it.
Talk to your neighbors and complain to the developer.
Advice to others, check the utilities available before you buy a lot/house.

Cable companies usually don't install new lines without a contract/money from the developer.
Developers don't want to pay, so lines don't get ran.
People build houses, then realize they can't transfer their high speed data service from their old house to their new house.

I don't know all of the details, maybe not even many of them. I do know they do some gaming as well. There are probably 4 devices minimum, for sure.

At 150Mbps you can do pretty much anything you want to do from a residential customer perspective. I know of businesses that dont have that type of bandwidth and dont have any issues.

Where exactly (Physical Location) are we talking?

                150 via DSL?

                Highly doubtful.

an old boss of mine lives in Katy. he was not happy with the data sizes and other things with whoever it was, so he used his side co's name to have it in his home as a "work" account and they more than tripled whatever the original amount was.

I want to say the business account was only $25 more than what the largest residential option was.

I missed the DSL part when I commented.

I don't think DSL goes that fast.
That's why people flock to us for our 50 and our 300 in MAXX areas.

Have them look around for a point to point internet company. It's really your only other option. They will install a radio that has a line of sight to their broadcast tower. Other than satellite it's your only choice if you're not hardwired in. Another option is to shoot off a neighbors router, if they are friends with any of the neighbors who have cable. I have built towers and done this type of work for years. If you would like more detailed information, shoot me a pm.

I have att in a residential area U450 package, and no where neer 150mbps and can do anything. Closer to 25. We have no less than 10 devices on it and have no issues downloading and gaming either.

Probably correct to say 1.5. I forgot about business account being faster. Specific location is 76028
