Please take the time to go see FIREPROOF. Saw it last night with another FF brother and our better halves. The ending of the movie brought a round of applause, which I have not heard in a long time. The acting was not the Oscar type but the message was incredible. It brought new light to my relationship with all. and I know that it did the same for my wonderful spouse. I saw it this morning when I had to leave for the station. Unsolicited kindness was shown for me. The undeserving one.

I would encourage everyone to see it. Please do.

Thanks for update. I'll have to go check that one out. Ladder 49 was a big improvement over the last fire dept. related movie that made us look like a bunch of alcoholic pyros, pretty sad the way they did us on that one. We seldom get any thanks for what we do for people. We often actually are treated with Disdain, especially when riding the box (ambulance). It's no wonder we are having problems with recruiting these recent years.

Heck ya brotha FF! right there when ya pass through Tankersley and ya see the West Texas Boys Ranch sign is where ya turn off to my place (lease), and I'm 2 miles down the Boys Ranch road right next to the lake. I have a couple trailers out there we stay in sometimes on the weekends though.

When you coming down next? I have a 4 day off next weekend.

We change at 0800. It was not that kind of kindness.
However I have worked the last 2 double shifts.

I want to see it bad. Houston Fire sta 64 c shift before, now CBP Officer for DHS, chasing the almighty dollar kind of forced me into a career change. Miss it alot though.

You are doing it for the wrong reasons if you want to be appreciated. I have ridden the box for 6 years straight and wouldn't trade the people I have helped. It does suck when you get the 2:30 call for a sore back. It is their emergency if they call 911, and we should treat it like that. We have the best job in the world, and I woulkd like to thank the tax payers for paying their tax to allow me to get my rocks off.

Hoyt, when did you leave HFD. I have been there 18.5 yrs, transfered 7 from another dept for a total of 25.5 in the pension. What year did you come in?

I got a guy I grew up with who hired on there last year last name Grube, if you see him, he is good people.
