    Fence panel hog trap

I've read a few older posts on this. Looks like everyone is building a swinging or trip door to close on them after they get inside. Is there any other way to make it work? I've seen other Google images that just use bungee cords to hold the overlapping portion closed and they push in, but can't get back out. Like a minnow trap (sorta). Here's some pics, I'm open to any comments you can give on it. This is a 6 panel, 16'x50" for each panel with a 4' overlap. T posts are every 4 feet and the panels overlap two squares at each end. All wire tied in.

    Thanks in advance.

Is it because they wouldn't go in once you closed the flap? Or that it wouldn't contain them once they were caught?

Mine never pushed in. They don't like tight areas but rather an open walkway.

        Mine are pressured tho

Thanks... I figured that might would have possibly been a problem. I have an old hog trap I may just cut the back end off and run the trip wire over to a feeder leg.

I've caught hundreds of hogs in the figure 6 traps. I would make your gate/door over lap more. If it doesn't overlap enough , they can push the inside panel past the outside panel and get out, when they hit it.

My dad used something similar and it had a drop down door that allowed for hogs to push in but I'm not sure how much that helped. A few times there would be 15-20 hogs in there and man was that nice.

Thanks for the replies. Did any of you stake down the bottom of the fence?

No. I just used my last stand of wire at the very bottom to tie it to the t post like the other 3-5 wires you may use on your way up
