Bbq smoker question

i just bought an old 18' boat trailer and have a 250gal. Propane tank. Wanting to build a smoker.anybody have one that is mounted crossways where you can cook from the ground ? Would love some pics. Not wanting to put a floor in it or have to reach over the tire. Any pics or suggestions would be helpful.

I have not owned one myself, but I have seen some pictures of them. Have you done a TBH search for all the smoker threads? You might find some pictures on there.

I would be concerned about having too much weight in the rear or too much tongue weight if you put it up front. The weight should be centered over the axles, but then you might have to floor your trailer to get to it.

I looked at a bunch on here and haven't seen any yet. Might just mount it like everybody else and work around the tire. Thanks

I have seen them with cook chamber sideways so you cook from the back and the fire box centered going toward the tongue but tongue weight always appeared sketchy.

You can do a conventional or reverse flow and cook from the ground with only the reach needed to get across the shelf.
