    Winch Controller

Had to use my fathers trailer yesterday to do some work. Well I loaded up my FIL tractor on the way home to take to a mechanic to work on the power steering. Somewhere along the road the winch controller didn't get unplugged. I have the cord, but the controller broke off.

This is the plug that goes into the winch.

Here is a winch controller they sell at northen tool.

Do you think I could take the wire that goes with the winch I have, and wire it to that controller. Not sure why the controller has a 4 pin but three wire system.

That looks exactly like the plug for my Ranger winch.

Goes to a champion winch. Most three plugs are the same as far as I know. Just trying to get something local today so it is operable for the weekend. If not I'll have to order something.

Any controler should work. Its basically just a two way switch that connects power to either the in or out solenoid on the winch. Most feed stores around here carry them. A heavy duty two way toggle switch from the auto parts store will work in a pinch. Good luck.

The controller should work, but the up/down buttons may not match up.
