    Another trigger question

Someone gave me a New England single shot .243 I went to shoot it yesterday and the trigger pull is VERY heavy. This will be a gun for my kids and it is so heavy I don't even think they could hardly pull it. Can I adjust this myself or do I have to go to the gunsmith?

If you will send just the reciever back to them they will do a trigger job on it. My sons 243 had some problems and I sent it back and asked them to also do a trigger job on it and now I would guess it's about 3lbs. There is a site that has a special section devoted to these rifles that used to show you how to do the trigger by yourself.www.graybeardoutdoors.com

This takes a gunsmith, trust me, do not try it yourself. Briley, Feland, Pitchford can all do it......

Was there a charge to do the trigger job. I looked at their web site but trigger jobs weren't mentioned.

Send it to any competent gunsmith. This is a very delicate job. If you take to much off, it will not hold and will be unsafe. You can send it right back to the company and they will do it also.

There was no charge, but I had warranty work done.
