Someone gave me a New England single shot .243 I went to shoot it yesterday and the trigger pull is VERY heavy. This will be a gun for my kids and it is so heavy I don't even think they could hardly pull it. Can I adjust this myself or do I have to go to the gunsmith?

Was there a charge to do the trigger job. I looked at their web site but trigger jobs weren't mentioned.

My sons 243 had some problems and I sent it back and asked them to also do a trigger job on it and now I would guess it's about 3lbs. There is a site that has a special section devoted to these rifles that used to show you how to do the trigger by yourself.www.graybeardoutdoors.com
