need advise, bass boat or center console

im looking to buy a new boat this year. i had a bass boat years ago and enjoyed it , but im starting to look at center consoles, ill probably be fishing mostly fresh water but would like to fish the flats sometimes, not going to get a real expensive boat something in the price range under $10,000 im also going to be introducing the wife to the joys of fishing, so what would you guys recommend.

Considering your in San Antonio and Rockport & the Laguna Madre are close enough for a few yearly trips, I'd lean hard on a Center Console.

With the right CC, you can bass fish working a trolling motor from the bow, and fish bass easily. Or fish stripers at Canyon and or Calaveras....or troll for redfish Calaveras.

A lot more options with the CC IMO in your region of Texas.

Now Dallas....that would be a different tune. The Bass boat makes more sense up there.

            I have a 19 foot bass boat.
My ace compadre has a 21 foot center console.
We fish for crappie alot and occasionally fish for hybrids and stripers.
The bass boat has been in the water 5 times in the last two years.
The center con is roomier and much easier to fish out of.
Only drawback, on windy days it's harder to keep his boat on top of a brushpile cause the wind blows it around more.

Center Console is in my opinion a MUCH better option, you have the ability to fish so much more water with a CC compared to a bass boat. I run mine on rayburn as much as I do in the salt and I am glad that I bought the CC, it handles rough water better than a bass rig and is much more comfortable in my opinion. We comfortably fish 4-6 people out of it while crappie fishing......try that in a bass rig.

not just the console but most cc are built to handle salt and no bass boat it.

CC all the way for me as well

My next boat will be a center console because of its versatility and where I can use it.

I wish mine was a CC. Lot more fishable room. I like being able to walk completely around the boat fighting a bigun. The other thing I will never have again is carpet. I mainly fish for cats and crappie so I like a boat that is easy to throw a cast net from to get shad and minners.
The only thing about a CC is it's impossible to get under the bridges on Lake Bonham to get to my catfish holes.

                      CC for salt.

I went with a Bass Tracker because I sleep in the boat on overnight catfishing trips. And it has plenty of compartments I can load up with jug lines. I'm obviously the odd man out because I didn't want a CC for catfishing. My Tracker was "cheap", super light, easy to trailer, tow etc.

No question, CC bay boat and aluminum trailer if you plan on fishing saltwater even just a couple times per year.

Cc most ride very nice. Most also lack storage room but for what you wanna do, it'll work well.
