    Tips on locating a tip

    Hey all,
Just moved up to the Amarillo area and am interested in getting on a lease. Do y'all have any advice on how to locate a lease or a spot on an existing lease?

    Thanks,
    Mitch

Put up a sign on the bulletin board at the feed store and call the chamber of commerce in all the little towns around you.

Check Craigslist and the paper. If I hear of anything I will keep you in mind.

Thanks for the ideas gentleman. I'll start posting at feed stores this weekend and start getting a list of area chambers as well.

Good luck. Lease hunting is awful. It's fast paced and cutthroat. I hate looking for one. Know going into it that there will be some fist shaking and cursing when you hang up the phone. You'll get a guy on the phone that will sound just like your grandpa and be real easy going and tell you all about it. You'll be all pumped up and ready to get in the truck to go look at it. Then he'll kick you right in the nuts by telling you the price or some ridiculous rule or stipulation. It'll be weird having your grandfathers face in your head and then immediately seeing red.

At least that's always been my experience with several of them.....
