    Montana Elk Hunting

Has anyone ever hunted in Southern Montana near Yellowstone in the Tom Miner Basin? Dad and I are looking at booking a hunt this fall and I'm looking for some feedback from people who have hunted the area.

Sunrise this morning from Ennis looking at the Madison Range. There's a lot of elk in southern Montana, but my son who lives here has sworn me to secrecy. I've never heard him mention that specific place.

I hunted between Bozeman and Billings two years ago. It was an outfitted hunt on private land, but we had a great hunt. Saw lots of elk and a few great bulls. We ended up going 2/3 on 6x6 bulls and got the drop on a big black bear.

What a great view. Wish I would have gotten out more often when I lived in the Northwest.

I have a great sunset yesterday taken out the window, sitting at the end of a bar having a beer with my son. The sunrise is better. Check out the wolf tags, they're really cheap for non-residents as well as residents since they didn't want them, got rid of them, had tree huggers reintroduce them, and now they're killing them off again.

Done a wilderness hunt on the border of Yellowstone, close to Gardiner in the Beartooth area. Beautiful country, hard riding (if you're not a horseman) and Fantastic outfitter. we took 3 phenomenal 6x7 bulls on the one year. Lots of grizzly though....

My son carries spray and a 454 Casul in a chest holster which does not come off when field dressing and quartering. Plus he has my 450 Marlin as a truck gun.
