CHL used to be a painful process. But as of late, as I understand it, it doesn't take more than about 45 day from the time all of your paperwork gets submited.

I just got my renewal in the mail, the best thing is it's my 3rd renewal and I don't have to take a class or shoot and it's good for 10 years.

LOL, I was walking through the electronics section in Wal-mart the other day and this little kid wasn't watching where he was going. WAM - rammed his forehead right into my S&W 357 on my side.

He had no idea what he hit, but he didn't like it.

How long did it take to get yours Blood Trail? I sent in my papers in the middle of June I got my pin # Aug 5th on the 26th of September I got a letter. That read.

This letter is to inform you of an unforeseen delay with processing of your concealed handgun application.

Due to the catastophic events andaftermath of Hurrican Ike, obtaining the required field investigation results for the counties located in the Gulf Coast area will be delayed for an unknown period of time while disaster recovery efforts are underway. The Department remainshopeful that these delays will be minimal; however, a specific timeframe for processing is not available at this time. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your understanding in this matter.

And I still do not have my CHL.

So, we have a "blood trail" and a "BloodTrail" posting on the same post and both receiving a CHL? That's wierd...

I received my CHL a couple of years ago, but it was getting better even then. It took far less time than expected.

Now if I may, can I suggest you take a tactical pistol class?

Sgt. Kieth McGuire of the Fort WOrth PD. Class was $95 for everything, including mugshots and fingerprints. The class started at 7AM and I was drinking a beer at the house after the range portion of the class around 4:30. One day, that's it.
