-1 , feels like -21 degrees ... Definitely gumbo weather

in Chicago for a college recruiting trip (swimming) with my son and wife

Had a chance to visit with my great aunt who turned 90 yrs young and cooked my famous chicken & sausage gumbo for 18 family members. Uncle Louie never had gumbo before and went back for 5 bowls

Growing up in South Louisiana , food and family are everything. I'm truly blessed to know a little bit about cooking and to share my Cajun groceries with Northerers who I've spoiled

Mason (son) has decisions to make about swimming in college , and I now know that -21 degree wind chill is absolutely brutal

    served them this

Made your recipe tonight for my kiddos. Came out great. We kinda had kitchen sink gumbo. Last of the deer sausage, 3 of this year's ducks, a goose from last year and a pound of shrimp from the store. Redheads can be pretty gamey but they are tender and delicious in gumbo!

Yep, Mason is a 17 yr old Senior and time flies way to fast with kids . Morgan is a Freshman in HS and also swims. She will be better than Mason by the time she graduates.

-1... I think they call that ice-skating, not swimming!!!

I kid, I kid... Gumbo looks right as the mail, and I wish your son luck in his decisions.
