Didn't see this posted. But because of Obama's awesome economy he was bragging about the other night. Walmart is closing 200 stores 10,000+ jobs.

Yep..... sucks for people losing there jobs. What do they do with the inventory? Put it on sale or just redistribute to other stores.

That is what I saw, the person writing the story said that anytime you use a self checkout, call over an attendant and ask for your employee discount

Yup they got our store in Edgewood. Gonna miss it. It's only been open maybe a year. Wonder if a guy could get a good deal on that store & open it back up ?

I installed about a thousand of those self check out registers in wal marts and grocery stores a few years back.

Those are not the reason for store closures I am sure. Hopefully I will get a newsletter better explaining the reasons for closing stores.

I sure hope this helps boost my stock.

According to the news article I read, they are closing stores that are within 10 miles of another store, and the super small wal mart express stores. Considering wal mart is opening another .com distribution center in the next couple of months, I doubt it was from the impact of Amazon that they are closing some locations.

Big Box stores are all in trouble Macy's Dillards JC Penny Sears Nordstrom. Think about it they all started as catalog store in the beginning. Just open up your i phone and order. No more labor cost building overhead

Sad for all the businesses they put out of business in the mean time, now small towns left with no options.
