Cruz may have fired a fatal shot at the Donald on the birther issue. If Obama could get around the birther thing then anybody can. Trump looked like a whiny baby as did Bush. Carson was in over his head again. Rubio comes off as too much of a fast talker typical politician double talk. I have to agree with Cruz on the New Yorker thing. Can't stand them for the most part. Upstate New Yorkers are not included. Lots of good farm people up there. The rest of them, well--------BYE.
Agree with your points for the most part except I don't mind the slug-fest. That's why they call it a debate.

On the "NY Values" thing, the NY Daily News cover this morning says "DROP DEAD TED" and has a picture of Lady Liberty giving the finger. That is NY values, and they're just proving Ted's point for him. Anyone who's being honest about it knows Ted was talking about NY City, not upstate NY where there are a lot of great salt of the earth people, more like the Midwest than like NY City. Voters in any state Ted (or any other GOP nominee) has a chance of winning in the General election, know exactly what he meant by "NY values".

By the way, this morning NY City SOCIALIST mayor Bill de Blasio was ripping Ted. That is a bona fide endorsement FOR Ted.

I'm currently liking Cruz more than the other candidates. With that said, I think his comment about New York didn't help him. It might not have hurt him but it didn't help.

As far as some of the other candidates that really don't stand a snowball's chance, at least they are up there shredding Obama, Hillary and the Democratic Party........ And that is always a good thing!

It helped him. The only place it hurt him is in NY and any other big liberal city that any Republican has zero chance of winning already. It helped him everywhere else. First, what he said about Trump as well as NY values are both true. Actually saying it rather than being politically correct shows strength. People are sick of weakness and political correctness. There is a widespread hunger for strength and truth.

The NY values thing is based off something that TRUMP said in the past...regarding why Wall Street/NY Business gets preferential treatment....he coined the term "NY values thing"...
He wont push that too hard...because he knows the QUOTE will come out.
          that..and its ****ing true.
Like Shane said.. NYC isn't a strong republican base..and isn't going to vote his direction anyway..so why not?

I disagree with this sentiment 100%. Its the same exact lame argument liberals and Obama have made. I'm not pointing that at you just pointing out the facts. Heres the problem.... its a Presidential debate not a cage match. Presidential debates are to show differences amongst their policies and records. A Presidential debate is not to fight over petty things that are meant to hurt candidates on a personal level. If you want to do that fine but in a primary? I want to hear real solution ideas to real problems and I want to hear real answers to the important questions that matter. I could care less if Trump thinks Carly has an ugly face. Give me substance not tabloid material.

The quote did come out last night during the debate. It was overshadowed by some of Cruz' other take-downs of Trump, but Cruz brought up the interview you're talking about with Tim Russert. The quote itself is actually problematic for Trump for 2 reasons. First, in it he is saying he has no problem with gay marriage, and then he says basically that his NY values aren't the same as Iowa values. Don't be surprised at all if Cruz works the quotes in that interview into his stump speech here over the next few weeks leading up to the Iowa Caucus.

Ahh ..was unaware he pulled the trigger early with it.....definitely a flip-the-script tool he can use when Trump gets a little too unruly.

I thought Trump struggled when Cruz fired shots at him. It wasn't the Trump you've seen in the past where he really comes back pretty good. His answer to NY attitude was a joke and lame tactic to bring up 9/11.

And here is a link to the video in question. Note that Trump makes the distinction between his New York values and Iowa values. Just like Cruz brought up in the debate. Guarantee Ted watched this video before coming at Donald from that angle of attack.

Did Rubio eat Cruz alive when he went on his "flip flop" tirade?
                      Is Cruz really a flip-flopper?

What do y'all think about the whole lawsuit thing Cruz's citizenship. I think it's BS but does it have any chance to gain traction with ignorant voters led around by the media?

Cruz needs to hire Obama's lawyers to get him out of this jam.
They're both accused of the same thing.
