We do not hunt a number of our food plots. Keeps the pressure off of them. Good management practice.

On all places I hunt that feed protein. The protein stations are off limits. No need for traffic in the area other than to fill. Want them to feel as comfortable there as they possibly can ( imho)

I like to have protein feeders and food plots with no stands on them. Not sure if it makes a difference to the deer. But it sounds like it could, so I do it.

It all depends on what you are wanting to accomplish. If you are looking to create a sanctuary for the deer, then don't hunt it. On the place I had that we fed protein (it was a small 300acre place) we were more interested in keeipng the deer around and not so much in actual deer mgnt (you can't manage a herd on 300ac surrounded by a bunch of other small places) so we fed the protein year around, and hunted it. Every P&Y buck we killed off that place came from the feeders with the protein.
