Like a lot of people I see, I'm interested in getting a suppressor and I seen a thread the other day regarding someone here that does gun trust. Anyone care to tell me who that is or who you used around the Houston area? Also, so I know exactly what I'm doing.. I do the trust, put a payment on the one I want, send in the form with my stamp money and in several months I'll get the stamp and can get my suppressor? Sound about correct? Thanks for any info

I used an attorney in the DFW area.
Chris Bass did a great job for me and everything was done by email. It cost me 300.00.
I'm sure there are attorneys in the Houston area who are just as good.
If I remember correctly, once I had my trust completed and notarized, I simply called the Silencer Shop and ordered my first two suppressors. They guided me through the process and made it easy.
The hard part is waiting for ATF approval.

That's pretty much how it works. When I finally broke down and called a lawyer I had my trust set up that day. Just had to get it notarized once it was drafted and reviewed. I put a dollar in mine to make it active. Then I bought my "can" from silencer shop. They did all the paperwork for me and I paid for my tax stamp with my online order. I had mine delivered to my door, which took an extra 2 weeks to do the form and get shipped. This was before silencer shop changed their business model. Now it has to go through a local dealer, but they will still do the paperwork and let you buy your tax stamp online. That way you don't have to wait for a check to cash. There are many ways to order/purchase your suppressor, and I'm not an expert on which is best. But silencer shop did me right when I ordered through them. As far as trust lawyers go... Sean Cody (I think he is the one on TBH) made my buddy's trust up for him. I used Jim Willi to draft mine and I am very happy with the experience. I've heard both names mentioned on here before, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either to build your trust. Good luck, be warned though, the NFA game is addicting!!!Last edited by lungbuster1985; 01-11-2016, 09:32 PM.

Awesome! I appreciate the lengthy write up. I wanted to make sure I had the correct info on things I needed to do. I want to get one for my .308 and then use that one on a 6.5 creedmoor also.. I've always wondered how well they actually work.. Haha

Just ordered my silencerco omega to run on 300 blk and 308. I went through silencer shop again, I'm hoping the process is as simple and painless as my last one was. Only time will tell if I made the right decision on that one. My spectre2 makes my 22s movie quiet. And on the 300blk a suppressor is really quiet also. They make an AR sound like a 22 and, just about everything is safe to shoot without ear pro. It just sucks at the range when everyone else is blasting away, and you just want to be quiet.
