I have done this for years while hunting in Colorado and NM in 20 degree temps
Yep. Or heat up some water, and fill a water bottle with hot water, and throw in your bag. Works a lot better than you would think.

Yep, but I usually leave a window or flap open a little when it's on.

Also, like it was pointed out earlier, Hot Hands in your bag help. If it is cold I will throw a non-adhesive body warmer in the foot of the bag and put an adhesive one right under my back so it won't move.

buy a small bail of hay and throw it on the ground where you set up the tent... use buddy heater with wool or moving blankets pinned up on the walls

          Your welcome

Thanks for the help guys, I went ahead and ordered a little buddy from amazon. I'm gonna bring a small fan too just to circulate the air as well as leave some of the vents open.

Pot of beans for supper....really, I'm the first one to post this?

I'll second the "no air mattress" suggestion. Coldest I've ever been was trying to sleep on an air mattress in 20 F weather outside Graham TX. I seriously thought I wasn't going to make it out of the bag, into my clothes, and to the house.

Ya I told a guy were camping with to not bring an air mattress. I got a twin 4" memory foam on sale for 50 bucks back in college and that's what I'm bringing to sleep on.

Bingo!!! Then throw about 4 or 5 hand warmers in that sleeping bag and you are golden.
