    found old fletching in doe

I was removing the backstrap on a doe today and found an old fletching embedded in the backstrap...I have never seen anything like that while processing a deer.

Crazy. I found a large broad head along the spine of a deer I shot once. I believe my dad found one way back when too.

The meat grew back around it I pulled it out with needlenose pliers...its amazing how tough whitetail deer are..

Interesting, I found a tusk broken off in the back strap of a boar once.

Did the meat grow back around it or was it infected..

Must have been there a long time. Hardly anybody uses those any more.

Old vanes for sure...I found this one in a buck I arrowed. This was seven years ago or so. The meat and skin had grown over it. I never knew it was there until I hit it with my knife. When I saw the little bit of yellow it took me a few seconds to register what was in the backstrap. Not something you are expecting to find. Very resilient animals.

Wow. Needs to do a better job of fletching.

I thought it was some gross parasite in the meat when I cut through it.

                          Should've used Steel Force Glue!

I probably wouldn't eat it! No matter what you do those vanes will have a rubber taste.

Classic "void" shot on that one

Processor I used had a piece of foam behind the counter on the wall that was full of all kinds of stuff found in the deer processed there.
