My dad lives on a little piece of land outside of Fredericksburg. He has not seen a buck bigger than a spike for over a month. Yesterday, the after the season ended, he has two bucks, a little 6 and little 8 come to his feeder. Smart devils. Seems like they have a sixth sense.

It always amazes me. Where do they go? Do the just find the thickest brush and just lay down during the day?

Last year, on a different place, i scouted pre-season. I saw the same dang good buck nearly every time i went. I couldnt wait for the season. Season started, poof gone, never saw him again for the entire season. I guess they dont get big by being dumb.

Our place see's very little activity year around. I've often thought we need to get the neighboring land owner to drive around our place once or twice a week just to keep some regular activity on the place so it's not an "unusual" event when we show up out there.
