Where are all the deer?

Im hunting at a small place on highway 44 outside Freer and haven't seen hardly any bucks yet. All that comes around is a couple youngsters and a few slick heads. Normally there will be a dozen when the dinner bell goes off. Where are all the deer?

They are laying low, conserving energy. They are so fat right now that moving around a lot takes a lot of effort. I've seen mostly babies the last few days. During that little cool spell early last week, my brother was covered up in nice bucks. Activity went down steadily over the last few days.

Those candy acorns have the deer attention. Corn is not in their diet when there are acorns.
