Do deer usually head to a wheat field in the morning or evening this time of year

Corn feeders slow so thought about hunting large 800 acre wheat field

Both but also put corn out in the wheat field. Deer will find the corn in no time..

Fields around us seem to get hit all day.

I usually got busted trying to go to a wheat field in the morning. So I usually set up in the afternoon.

This is what I have experienced too. But if you can go in quietly and early the deer usually return.

This has been my experience as well.
