    Dog food for hogs????

Has anyone ever used dog food to bait hog? Local feed store has two pallets for $0.50 a bag. This got me to thinking.

I bet it would work. Add some grape or berry jello packets. Sweeten it up

Don't Know why it would work. They eat everything. Maybe put down jello packets on it

Used it to bait roads when javelina hunting. Hogs and javies sucked it up. So did deer!

            They aren't the pickiest eaters

I used it years ago, but it was the same cost as corn. I also added grape jello packets to it. I put up a game camera on it. I had

              1. Hogs
              2. Coyotes
              3. Deer
              4. Racoons
              5. Donkeys
              6. Stray Dogs

It worked good, but like I said, it cost the same or more than corn

I raised up two wild pigs from three days old until I butchered them. Their favorite food was dog food. I didn't feed it as their regular feed but just a couple of handfuls every day for a treat.

Not only that with the extra smell you could probably get in a few rat hunts if your in one of the high population areas.

What size bag and brand of dog food is $.50 a bag?

We would work dogs in about a 300 acre hog pen. We would pour out a bag of dog food to give the dogs a starting point to go off.We would pile it up the night before and the hogs would tear it up.

Tried it along with some creep feed that had mildewed a bit---the piles of it in the trap layed there until the hogs just trampled it into the dirt---on the way to the corn.

I have a tame pig and I feed it a mix of dog food, pig food, and corn. She loves dog food. But corn is cheaper.
