    Welding question Miller 225

With Miller 225 Welder unit mounted (bolted) directly to frame of trailer, is it ok to weld metal to the trailer? Is there any chance in damaging the welding unit because it's mounted to the trailer you'll be welding to?

Don't do it! It's ruined, give me a call and tell me exactly where it is so I can take it off your hands.

Thank you guys! Just wanted to be certain, brand new unit and getting it set up on its trailer. Will need to modify trailer some to turn into welding trailer.

If it is the old cracker box it won't hurt a thing.

Put your ground as close to what you are welding as possible, you want to make sure the current don't flow threw your machine or wheel bearings

A good way to do it is run a ground lead to the trailer. That way if you are welding at the ends of your leads and need to go back to the trailer, you can weld on it with out having to bring your ground clamp back to it.
