Big round eyes show 4 yrs old. I guess he's just run down from rut, cause everything else I'm looking at shows 6. You know him better than me, he just looks old in that pic. Never hurts to leave them. Good luck. He's a stud

Had this one at 15 yards last weekend as I clung to a slick sycamore tree for dear life. I had another deer on my mind. Trees on the place need to hurry up and get bigger so I have more options for a climber.

Yeah, he was the biggest deer I have ever seen in person. Awesome deer, pics really don't do him justice. Saw several deer from 140 to 170 on the trip and when he walked out, he dwarfed everything. I don't think he was all that old either... Going to be an awesome deer!

We are the first but to no avail... We pass many great 3.5 and 4.5 year olds. They are regulars, September and October, until the guns come out around us and the non-stop shooting begins.. Within weeks they are gone..

And it is not always your neighbors, my target buck got killed over 4 miles from his core area...

I hunted at the Westervelt Lodge in Alabama for about 6 years. My first year on the 2nd hunt, I let a 4.5 year old 8 point walk, assuming there were better deer out there. Maybe 130-140 range buck, but in 6 years, I never saw a better buck there. I didn't start regretting it until about year 3, so maybe it's not so bad I let him walk.

I hunted there a couple years ago with a friend who goes every year for the past 8 or so years and he has never had a shot at a shooter. Nice place all the same.

This is a deer we call wide load. Needs at least one more year. Sure was hard to pass him.
