Got ya beat. We played a fair bit of D&D. But played even more StarWars RPG. Not even the published version... a customized version with our own dice system.

I still get together with buddies from the old days, once a month, for RPG stuff. Guess I never grew out of it.

The game is still going. The attention span of a 5yr old is limited, so we only do one or two rounds of turns a night. This is going to go on for at least another week, unless the boys get furious and quit.

This game may not go to completion but it will give them a taste for revenge that should be fun when they get a little older [emoji6]

Well here we are again. The 2nd annual NYE family game of RISK! The kids are a little older, a little wiser, and better able to handle the ups and downs in the game.

We're doing better this year, we're over 4hrs in and nobody has cried or threatened to disown a member of the family. My younger son has grasped the concept of consolidating his efforts and defending a single continent to gain strength. He's got South America and is working on Africa. My wife and daughter are teamed up and are close to taking Europe. My older son is struggling but hanging in there. I have just taken Asia and am about to go on a rampage. Just gotta be careful about where I expand but everyone else is essentially plotting against me.

            Happy New Year!

I have a 4 year old son, his attention span is super short but when it comes to uno attack, he will sit down and play it untill me and my wife are tired.

Our family gets pretty cut throat about Risk too. When you think about the time you put into this game it's tough not to. Most of games continue over a few days so we snap a pic of the board to make sure no pieces are moved! Great game!

I've got a few different Risk sets, including an antique wooden piece and the anniversary metal piece set. We would have games in high school that lasted for weeks. Had a couple custom rules that included nukes and subs.

Ah Risk, how I hate thee. The longest game I ever played lasted several days. In the end the Axis won and Germany turned on her allies to control the entire globe. Goodness what a game.

Oh and as far as D&D goes I'd still be playing it if I could find a group that wasn't made up of 20 year old kids. Still have a Crown Royal bag full of dice and all my old books here on the shelf.

I awoke this morning to all three kids at the Risk table discussing their strategy and treaties to work in coordination against me. LOL. My wife says they have been at it for a good 30 minutes. Boy are they going to be upset when i punch east through Alaska instead of continuing to push west!
