Glad to hear you're well...and kudos to the wife for her quick actions.

Maybe you can get by with a Camelbak....they can pretty much be handsfree.

My oldest son is 34 and was hospitalized in July similarly. Dehydration from bay fishing in heat all day and neglecting hydration.

We/ he suspected a cardiac event as well- I've had Arythmia history so he assumed he might be similarly inclined. But ER docs ruled cardiac out.

          Hydrate-hydrate-hydrate!!

Cardio was the first thing they went after. EKG, heart monitor, echo cardiogram, the works. A lot of folks don't even think of dehydration in the winter time and I'm one of them. During the summer I drink water like a fish when not at work. winter time not so much. Lesson learned.

Glad you're okay Randy, I'd be asking for that water fountain until they installed it. Your health and ability to work ought to be enough reason for them to do it.

There's an app that will help you remember to drink water through out the day. I'm bad at it too and just fought a battle with kidney stones. It's definitely not worth it not to drink the H2O. I got myself a Yeti, so that helps.

I started something last year. I fill up these (3) 24 ounce water containers and drink one at breakfast, one at lunch and one at dinner. That away I know I am getting the water the body needs. I also drink coffee, tea but at least I know im getting good pure water. So many folks scrimp on the water. Just unwise. Your body must have it. Nothing like a good cleansing.

Know how you feel. Had a very minor heart attack last February. Angio opened arteries, too small to stent. 2 days in hospital and sent home, no restrictions. Took off a couple of days, went back to work. Changed diet, stopped alcohol, handful of pills morning and night. Feel better. Hydrate.

Happened to me several years ago when i was with my son at Pinecove. I felt nausceous and passed out on my way to the bathroom. I had been battling a sinus infection. They kept me overnight at ETMC in Tyler after an ambulance trip. Ran every test they could and all they could come with is dehydration and viral.

I learned that if i ever had to go to a hospital again in Tyler it wouldn't be ETMC. Really bad.
