We have shot doe and inferior bucks for several years and now we have some nice mature shooters on camera. I had 3 this year that were shooters. This is a low fence place on lake Georgetown. I compete with 5 feeders around the property that pull deer, so it has been difficult to let deer walk. The land owner gave me the green light. Tonight it paid off. This deer was one of the three I had pegged to take. I had not seen him since October. I thought he was dead. At 5:27 I saw him on the opposite side of the fence pacing up and down while looking at my feeder. He turned and went to the right out of sight. I thought he left. Next thing you know I saw legs coming through the tree branches to my right and he walked in to 20 yards. I told myself to take the first shot I got. He finally turned broadside after 5 minutes and there was an opening between the branches. I let fly and the slick trick gave him wobbly legs and crumpled him at 40 yards. I took out the top of his heart and both lungs. I was shaking so hard after the shot that I couldn't stop laughing at myself. Anyways, I'm stoked!!
