    How Texans Can Make Playoffs

"So the Texans didn't get any help from the Bengals on Monday Night Football, but not to worry. The odds for them to move on into the playoffs as AFC South champs are still quite high.

    Here are the scenarios.

If the Texans beat Jacksonville on Sunday - no matter what else happens -- they're in.

If the Colts lose to Tennessee Sunday - again, no matter what else happens - the Texans are in.

If the Texans lose and the Colts win, it goes to the strength of victory tiebreaker and the strength of schedule tiebreaker.

So if that happens, the Texans are in the playoffs with wins or ties by any one of the following - Cincinnati, New England, New York Jets and San Diego.

However, if all of those teams lose, it goes to the next tiebreaker -- strength of schedule.

The Texans would clinch on that tiebreaker if Kansas City wins or ties and Baltimore wins or ties, as long as both teams don't tie.

Of course, we all know the Texans will bring home the division title by beating Jacksonville Sunday, but it's nice to know all the different ways the team can get to the playoffs."

I'm thinking the Colts "Luck" has run out....

If the Texans don't win this Sunday they don't deserve to make the playoffs. They should take care of their own business by winning.

Really? So you think the Colts will "deserve" to make the playoffs if the Texans lose one more game? Neither team is great, but if the Texans have the best record or tie breaker then they get to go regardless if they beat Jacksonville or not. Either the Texans or Colts are going to the playoffs.

This is a Texans thread. Why mention our farm team from north Texas?

So glad Weeden got promoted from the JV team to the big leagues!

Neither deserve to make it if they have to back in. But, it would mean a whole lot more if the Texans win and take care of their own business. Why depend on someone else to do your job? Especially against a pitiful team like the jags. Basiacally = to a 5-7 team making a bowl game if they can't beat the Jaguars.

You know, I'm in that state where I'm mad that The Texans can get in with the way they've played all season. Then, I think, they're playing on their 5th/6th qb rotation and have really done well defensively the last 2/3 of the season. Could they go deep into the playoffs and make it to the Super Bowl? It is The NFL and stranger things have happened.

                  Ok, I admit I'm crazy, but, "So, you're saying there's a chance!"

I agree with that. They played well last week it would be nice to see another strong win to start the playoffs

The AFC South is going to the Houston Texans. The Colts need nine different outcomes to come through to take the division.

True, but couldn't that same case be made for every single wildcard team (every single year)?

Every team's goal is A) win their division and/or B) get to the playoffs...does it really matter how?

                          Ouch, that's down right mean...

Its good Weeden was available when the Texans needed another quarterback. Lot of injuries this year in that position. I'm ok with the Texans getting into the playoffs on tie-breaker stats. They can use the Jaguar game as a pre-season game getting ready for the Chiefs.

Well, if you're gonna be ugly about it...........

Guess that tells you who I root for.

I'll still say, go Texans even if they aren't my team. At least they're from Texas.
