    Marlin, Tx

Can anyone around there tell me if it's still flooded? I'm pretty sure it is because I want to go hunting this weekend and I haven't been down there yet when it wasn't a muddy mess.

    thanks

I went to Marlin Monday morning. Came in on 7 from 77 and every field I looked in was swampy swampy

Great, looks like we'll be able to drive around the ranch mid-June. Maybe.

            Just curious:

My wife's family has a small ranch northeast of Marlin near Riesel. We are just starting to see a few deer and some deer tracks regularly in past few years. I hear there are more deer in Falls County in the river bottoms, but they're rare out in our neck of the woods.

Any chance you're hunting out in her family's neck of the woods?

There's a few deer around. They're making a come back slowly. I think the no doe rule has really helped.

Do y'all ever hunt coyotes out there? I'm in the area and always looking for new people to go with.

Yes- but not since Father in law passed away and brother in law moved away. The place my wife's family has is about 4-5 miles east of Highway 6 and north of St.Paul's (church) Road.

We have some spots we hunt right around there. Lots of pigs.
