Well me and my daughter finally got to shoot something with her semi custom Rem 700 6.8. We made a run to Houston county today to hunt with GarGuy. She's not too sure of herself yet so she just wanted to go with me. Originally I was gonna take my bow but she insisted we take her rifle. Now I know myself you don't see many 2.5 year old spikes but we actually found one. Shot was at 188 yards, quartering to us, I hit him right in front of the left shoulder and actually got an exit behind the left shoulder. I gotta say I was impressed with it. DRT! Hornady 120 grain SST. Best part was she was watching the entire thing. He came out about an hour earlier about 200 yards to our right. We had does and fawns at the feeder but he was acting spooky for some reason. Right at dark she spotted him 188 to our left. It's just a lanky Ol spike but I was excited because she was so excited. We're gonna work more with the 17 and back and forth with her 6.8 in the off season. No doubt now she'll be ready for next year. Me and this little girl went through hell back in 06-07, some of you might remember. But it's all good now! [emoji6][emoji1]
