18 Quart Roaster Oven of Chili - How Many People?

How many people (men) can I feed with one 18 quart roaster oven of chili?

In one roaster oven I can fit my chili recipe expanding it to a 7lbs of ground beef, mushrooms, kidney beans, tomatoes, and onion recipe, normally it's a 2 pound recipe. My wife and I can eat on the two pound recipe for two days (4-5 total meals).

Do you think I can feed 35 men with two 18 quart roaster ovens full of chili?

It's pretty hearty chili if that helps. If rather have way to much that too little.

36 at 8 oz per person. Should be enough if you are supplying crackers/fritos/cheese/onions/cornbread

Dont do the math... some take more, seconds....

If you are providing the bowls and utensils, get the smaller or medium size bowls. Not the big huge bowls. At least everyone gets one round with 2 roasters. I bet they can get seconds with 2 roasters.

Mushrooms in chili! My wife goes nuts if I put beans in it.

I think you will have plenty w 2 roasters full.

That's not chili. That's bean soup.

We do 4 lbs at a time and it is basic chili, none of that extra stuff. None of that other stuff and I bet I could feed 10-12 easily off that.

36 quarts for 35 men ought to work, lot of chili in a quart when you add chips and cheese.

It fed a total of 38 men. Some had second helpings. I will in the future next time use 8 lbs of chili meat per roaster oven. It was a little more soupy than I prefer, eve though I had no complaints.

As far as the chili connoisseur folks lol I like to have a meal in a bowl that's not straight meat. I prefer my chili to have beans, onions, tomatoes, garlic, and mushrooms. Call it goolash if you must but that's my preference. only time I like chili with no beans and extras is on hotdogs.

Good deal, I like a lot in my chili too. Not crazy about the bean part but I'll eat it.
