    smoothing pasture land

For some weird hog reason, I have had an excessive amount of rooting on my pastures this year, looking for best way to smooth it out, thought about light discing, then dragging. Thought about buying a drag harrow. But first, I am going to check the green screen. Any ideas?

I'm in. Got two acres at least that look like the air force has been using for bomb runs. I was told disc then box.

Just got done fixing some at my ranch, they were way too deep to just disc in so i just used the backhoe and smoothed flat with the front bucket. I then just scooped up several old bales from the cows and pushed them out to get the coastal growing again, will be like new in no time. Definitely a hassle and makes cutting hay miserable when you hit a deep one.

I have about 12 acres of pasture that have been tore up. Very interested in what folks in the know would suggest...

Went out this morning with the tractor to move a hog trap and when coming back up the pasture with my tractor decided to experiment. Using my front end bucket I was able to easily smooth flat the areas they created that were less than 8 inches deep. Haven't tried it yet on the real deep ones. Think I'll disc first and then smooth with my tractor.

We generally smooth/fill them back in with the tractor bucket and then drag a homemade harrow across them. Works pretty well. My hatred for hogs runs deep during hay baling season....
