No, to wear the patch upright, the pig has to be killed and recovered AT Granger, but does not have to be DURING GRXH. Right, Rat?

That is correct, killed and recovered at Granger, not necessarily during a GRXH event.

No, the beer does not have to be in cans.

As far as supplies:
Anything you need to camp with, except food.

Hammocks work great!


As do tents.


Tentcots seem to gaining in popularity.


You can even use a Brazilian lean-to!


Sleeping bag, aspirin and TP are all you really need other than a shelter; but everyone's list is a little different.

A list of supplies is usually posted a week or two before the hunt. Folks usually picks out an item or two to pitch in for. (Ex: peanut oil, aluminum foil, paper towels, aluminum cooking pans, etc.) If all the items are accounted for, extra beer and fuel for the boats that are ferrying Rangers up and down river works too. Of course, whatever other gear you think you might need personally. If this is your first, you will probably bring either too much gear, or On the rare occasion, someone may not bring enough.....ahem.... Sneaky

Strictly speaking you don't NEED a shelter unless it's raining...
