I saw it last night. Probably the best war movie I've seen in several years. It beats Lone Survivor, American Sniper, Zero Dark Thirty, Fury and any other big name war films I've seen.

Even if this wasn't a true story and I had no knowledge, this would still be a great film. But knowing the event and everything going into the movie made it that much better. Everyone who's thinking about seeing it should go and watch it. Great movie.

Saw this at the world premier in the Cowboys stadium Tuesday night. It was pretty cool being put in by Entertainment Tonight. Michael Bay spoke and all the actors were in attendance as well as several MOH awardees, some of the survivors of the ordeal, Danny Dietz's mom (Lone Survivor) and even the SEAL who killed Bin Laden.

The movie itself was very good and I will def watch it again in a theater.

"13 Hours", been out for 3 years according to the B&N guy. I finished it at 11pm last night, couldn't put it down. It does mention the failures of response in the first and last of the book, but the main story is about the men who took charge and saved lives and defended ground until they could be extracted.

I'm gonna go watch the movie for sure.

Yes the book is "13 hours". The link I posted at the beginning says "against all odds" but it's not in reference to the book. As usual the book is always better. If you want to enjoy both, I'd suggest see the movie first, then read the book.

                      X2.

Fantastic portrayal of what happened. It's eye-opening.

Saw the movie last week. The entire theater was quiet, even after the movie. Surreal. Read an ABC piece this morning:
In a statement to ABC News, the CIA called the claims in the movie "shameful," "a distortion of events" and denied that a “stand down” order was given.

Denial isn't just a river in Egypt. Ridiculous.

                            One more thing.
The reason no help was sent was because Chris Stephens was helping the administration arm Syrian rebels with munitions from Libya.
The U.S. faces challenges in Syria as heavy weapons fall into the hands of jihadists, complicating the conflict further.

Saw it this weekend. Two defining moments IMHO.Whe the lady CIA staffer is on the phone with higher ups begging for at least a fly over of jets. The person on the other end asks"on what authority are you requesting this?"
"We'll all be dead by morning if you don't."
Cut to several jets just sitting on the flight line.

The second was the CIA Station Chief (who is portrayed as totally lost)trying to give orders. The head security contractor(Navy Seal) says"You're not in charge anymore......you're in my world now".
If the movie is even close to what happened, neither the Embassy nor the CIA annex were prepared for what happened. The small group of security contractors are the sole reason any of them are alive.

Great movie, wish we could get the whole story, like why the Ambassador was there (making deals to get arms back we supplied to the Libyans to overthrow their government). The movie will tick you off, made me want to go back into the military.
