    Question for CPAP users

I just got my cpap machine a couple of days ago and have used it for 2 nights. The first night for about 3 1/2 hours, but last night I kept it on all night. My question is, when will I begin to see a difference in how I feel? I woke up this morning feeling the same as every day before, still tired and no energy. Does it take some time to start seeing a difference?
    Thanks
    D

I noticed immediately. But I have a full face mask. What mask do you have?

It's a small mask that fits over my nose. It's very comfortable and it works well for me.

If you are not " leaking " and your machine is set right, you should feel the benefits immediately. I did, about 20+ years ago. One hint, the cooler the room air the better I sleep. YMMV

I felt better the first night.....of course I was 10 years younger so the effects may not be as noticeable the older one gets.

It helped me after about a month, but not to the level I had hoped. At the advice of some here, I got my T levels checked, and that is when I began seeing the difference. The combination has changed my life.

I noticed it the first morning after I got the machine. Are you positive you are getting a good seal and that your mouth is staying shut all night?

If you do not notice an immediate difference, you need to go back and try another kind of mask.

The machine should have a button you can push to give you a score for how you slept. The data on the SD card can be e-mailed to your MD to evaluate. My machine covers mouth and nose since my noise is pretty blocked. The settings on the machine might have to be adjusted to increase /decrease pressure. Ask your doctor.

If I get 3 or 4 hours a night I feel better but that don't happen very often. I fight mine all night every night. With that being said, I have a terrible headache if I don't use it.

I fought mine for a day or 2. Now I can put it on and be asleep a minute later. Can defiantly tell if I don't use it. Have not been sick as much since using it don't get a sore throat like I used to.

My experience with a CPAP is this...
If you fart in the intake side of the machine the guy wearing the mask gets extremely angry!

Have a full face and won't leave home without it.
