Has anyone else caught the documentary of the rampant corruption of the NYPD's 75th Precinct in Brooklyn back in the 80s? My gosh...those guys were ruthless, taking bribes, stealing drug money, then protecting the interests of the drug dealers and even dealing themselves.
If you haven't seen it check it out. You can't write this kinda stuff. There's some incredible footage and testimony of the actual cops involved...we're talking gansta stuff!

I saw it, it's crazy. If you listen to podcasts the main guy, Michael Dowd, was on the Joe Rogan podcast talking about some other stuff they didn't show and his jail time. You should check it out.

Watched it, excellent documentary brings back the days of the 80's in Miami. Another documentary coming out next year about the same time frame but in Miami. 19 Police officers known as the River Cops, greed, power hungry corrupt cops who murdered anyone for money...

I couldn't believe some of the footage they had of the drug dealers and ex cops speaking so candid about all the corruption going on. That Michael Dowd cat was a freakin HEAD! Dude bought a brand new flashy red Corvette and drove it to the Precinct on a $600wk LEO's salary.
Said he was making so much money on his bribes and extortion racket that he would forget to pick up his paycheck at the police station.

I think I read somewhere the idea for the tv series The Shield came from this unit. If you watched it, the circumstances are very similar but just in a different city.

The Shield is awesome if you have the time.
