I see crap like that. I also hate it when it's a close out and it's just like a dollar cheaper or $5 cheaper on $100s.

If I'm looking at close outs I want 30-50% off.
        That's just my thinking

I like going into Academy and looking at some of their clearance items. Generally mark from $XX.99 to $XX.98

The funny part was that they paid some employee to made the sale ad, and it's full of those prices.

when you see that always go to a scanner and check the price, many times it's a lot lower at Academy. I picked up a bunch of fishing rods that way for a couple bucks apiece as well as numerous other items for pennies on the dollar. That being said I picked up some clearance fruit tree spray at Home Depot priced at $4.88 but rang up as .01. Paid and told girl I was going to get more as it's only a penny and she told me she can't sell me anything for a penny, told her they already had but she wouldn't let me buy anymore.....

                      Truth.

I scored a $300 pair of Under Armour rain pants marked down to $99 on the tag for $49 checking the scanner.

                        Is that Cheaper Than Dirt?

It could be they understand the human psyche, no telling how many people only see "clearance", figure they're getting a deal and order.
