Can't tell if it was his wallet or just cash, but it does appear that is the case.

One thing I noticed was the dead guy never even flinches after getting hit. Must have been a very effective hit (head, spine or other cns).

IIRC that's an off duty cop. His mannerisms, haircut, tactics, etc scream cop to me. I could be wrong but that's how it appears to me. Either way, great ending.
