Which TX counties have the highest whitetail populations?

Searching from my phone rather than the PC so maybe I missed a thread or two.

I remember a couple of threads about BIG deer by county and region ; S TX, Golden Triangle, etc., but,

Which counties or regions just have the largest overall populations of deer. Where can I go set up feeders and have them overrun with deer ?

    Thanks

I would think any of the hill country counties. Towards the western edge.

I just got on a place in Lampasas Co. and when my feeder goes off they come running.
I've never hunted a place where this has happened before.

I hunt Lampasas county and yes they have a bunch of deer, but I guess not enough (bucks that is)......antler restrictions are still in place.

I always thought Llano claimed the title for deer per acre. Most per acre for whole US from what I remember from years ago.

But to answer your question, pretty much any of the hill country.

Llano is my understanding as well but where I hunt in San Saba is pretty thick with them too. Have 10+ at feeder often and could kill deer every trip if i wanted.

Llano and Gillespie counties used to have the highest deer densities in the country. Not sure if that's still true.

Place I hunted in Brady, you couldn't hit test on the feeder and make it up the tripod before deer where there. Killed a doe that ( tooth wear) was 6.5, and I could hold her up by one leg like a rabbit. Lol
