Need advice on which Thermal Scope to buy.

I am starting to research Thermal Scopes. I would like to know if any of my TBH brothers or sisters have any first hand knowledge or advice on brands, makes or models. It will be mounted on an M4 platform. Thanks for any and all your input.

You've come to the right place... There are some serious "gurus" on here that know about that stuff.

You'll get all kinds of feedback depending on your budget.

I'll put it this way, i like to whack pigs/predators for fun, but i have $ on the line with fawn/fawn survival as well...i shoot a Zeus!

First question would have to be budget.

The Pulsar Apex 38A can be had for around $3k, the 50A around $4k. I think those are the best two options in either price range. If you budget is a little bigger there are a few options like the IR defense MK II and of course Armasight Zeus/Pro I would suggest checking out.

A couple of my buddies have the Apex38a and the other has the Zues. The apex is very good IMO and great to start with. Very clear and crisp to about 500 yards. The Zues is fantastic. Very clear and even more crisp to about 800 yards. You can see much further with each scope but making a big hog compared to a calf is very important and a easier quality of the Zues. I'd go with the apex to start unless you wanna go big out the gate. I'll tell thee is nothing like walking up in a pack of hogs to about 50-75 yards and cuttin loose on them and they have no clue!!

The Zeus is on my Christmas list.

Which probably means I'll be ordering it for myself on the 26th

No one really likes me that much

Thanks for all the info. Most of my hunting will be in the 50-200 yard range. I like the 50A and the Zeus so far. Keep the info coming though. Thanks again.
